beach towel

Have been struggling with this beach towel for daughter; we are going on a cruise in sept and wanted to make this for
her b/d. The front actually looks better in person, that is not what I am concerned with, but it's the back. Used spray to adhere the towel to the stabilizer and it doesn't want to come off too good. I've cut and cut around it as best as I can, but afraid I am going to cut the towel. I'm hoping in time it will kind of "detach". It took 83 mins to stitch out and for you machine embroiders, you know it takes a whole lot more time than that with all the color changes, changing bobbins, etc., etc., etc....... Have washed the towel twice and not going to wash anymore. You should have seen the fuzz it created in my dryer filter; enough for another towel, lol. Anyway, hope she likes it. I know she will say she does, but she just won't know how I have struggled with it. These pictures aren't so good.

It looks great and with her name on it she won't have anyone walk off with it!

Spritz it with alcohol which is a good adhesive remover or dip a cotton cloth into some alcohol and gently swipe it across the affected area then wash! Your towel looks great and love the embroidery!!

Thinking maybe your spray adhesive was permanent not temporary. Tip about alcohol is good one.....

What kind of stabilizer was it, doesn't seem like its wash away. Not all stablizers are meant to be removed. Try soaking it in warm water with Dawn in the water, I've heard it helps. Instead of cutting the towel, maybe get a thin piece of cotton or terry and put a pocket over the back or something like that. Normally for terry, I use wash away stabilizer on the back, and then topping on the top to keep the threads up like they should be.

Enjoy the summer with it!

The main thing to remember about it is that with that beautiful design on one side, the other side will always be down and out of sight. Don't sweat it! Daughter is very lucky that you took the time to personalize her towel so nicely.
