1 Attachment(s)
Just made this and plan to make more for an upcoming craft fair..I never really got into beading but have some glass beads and thought this would be a fun little project besides the beaded stitch markers for knitting and crocheting..they are not good for fine needles but medium size and for floss and yarn..will watch yard sales for more beads..fun to have somthing to hunt for

That's adorable. I would buy one and I don't even use a needle threader.

Sue Fish 10-11-2013 05:44 AM

Thanks...lol we older gals need those needle threaders :)

Good job Sue. Having fun watching all these new things you come up with.

What a great idea. A blinged out needle threader! :D I love it!

EDIT: I think I would buy a few of these at a craft fair. I love little working tools and the cute factor of these is very high. How much $ ?
peace

I am hoping people at the craft fair will like the idea for stocking stuffers for knitting friends..you never know what will sell though

judykay 10-11-2013 01:41 PM

Adorable, I love it and your price is fair and you should do well. Something different at a craft show, what a unique idea. Something different than jewelry, let us know how you do.

Sue Fish 10-11-2013 02:39 PM

More needle threaders

Here are more I made today

tmw 10-11-2013 03:04 PM

they are so cute, make a big sign to explain what they are used for!! the price is good too.

judykay 10-11-2013 03:55 PM

I love them so much I wonder if you would mind if I used your idea, I belong to a small quilting group and would love to make them each one aspart of their Christmas present. I promise I will let them know where the idea came from.

Sue Fish 10-11-2013 04:10 PM

Yes of course..I think they'd love them!

judykay 10-11-2013 05:19 PM

Thanks, what would be a good weight for quilting needles?

I'm not sure. Was told 28 gauge but I found it bends a lot. I am not too familiar with beading til now

Thanks, I will take a few different size needles with me and check out various sizes and will post what I find. Another example of how great this board is, we share so many wonderful ideas with others all around the world.

Good idea and maybe you will get lucky and find someone at the store to help you..I never seem to be that lucky lol

What size wire

I love your beaded needle threaders, but I wonder what size of wire you used? I see the wire is twisted under the top bead. I have many beads stored at my winter home, can't wait to try this. Is the wire too thick for a fine needle? Big thanks to you for sharing the idea. I assume, this last longer than Wal-Mart or JoAnn's needle threaders.

judykay 10-12-2013 06:02 AM

I don't know if you do this or not but whenever I buy a needle threader no matter the quality I always take a drop of super glue and put it where the wire comes out whatever it is attached to. This helps them last longer so the wire does not come out at the first use.

Good tip thanks!

If I didn't have a threader, I wouldn't be able to sew by hand. My eyes are going fast, and I just got new glasses

I have pm'ed and chatted with many who think I should charge $3 each so I think that is what most think is fair and sounds good to me..it is so hard to know what to charge for crafty things we do...I am just so pleased that so many seem to really like them

sewnsewer2 10-12-2013 04:03 PM

Sue, that's really nice. You should do well! I don't like those flimsy ones, they break easy.

yel 10-12-2013 04:42 PM

at walmart they have itty bitty ziploc bags in the craft section really cheap could put them in there for your craft fair ...then place them in someone's fabric box that would be cute
