I bought some yesterday here at a farmers market in Al. they are very good. I made a blackberry bar with some and have enough for a pie or cobbler...yum!

The blackberries are all done here in South Arkansas. My thorny ones were big, but not that big. I picked gallons of them. The thornless ones are just now done. They aren't so big and aren't as prolific. The cardinals got the last of them.

Those are beautiful berries, cobbler & ice cream does sound good. We don't have any fresh blackberries here, so I'm limited to frozen.

WOw only ones I've seen that big are mulberries. So what time will the pie be ready?

Wow. What beauties! I'm enjoying a bumper crop of raspberries, strawberries and blueberries. I think it must be all the rain. The blackberries aren't quite ready, but they are plumping up! Yum!

I can smell the cobbler right now, from here. Drool, drool!

When I was growing up my grandma always called those big berries Boysenberries. You seen them a lot interspersed with regular blackberries. They sure were yummy and it didn't take long to fill your bucket. That was the best part.LOL

We're not having a large crop of blackberries this year because it's been so dry but the ones we have a huge and sweet. I rarely have enough at one time for a cobbler or jam, but I'll post a recipe I tried that made a wonderful little cake with just a cup of blackberries. DH and I polished it off pretty darn fast!!
