beetroot stain.
 

I dropped a slice of beetroot which landed on my pure white bishion frise. I've tried to remove the red stain without success. Does anyone have an action plan or must we wait for her next trim in five weeks?

Would a chlorox wipe work? That suggestion is from my Aunt who had a Bichon for a long time. She also said if you ever have tar or sap fabric prewash is oily enough to work.

Unless you plan on showing the sweetie, I would wait for the next clip.

Could you just take a damp cloth and try wiping most of it off?

If you leave it be it will probable fade especially if she spends some time in the sun. I don't think I'd use anything other than doggy shampoo to try to remove the stain. I'd be concerned about irritating her skin using anything else.

Maybe try a little hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball or cloth. Of course some people may think it's a new doggy hair trend!!!

When my daughter was about twelve, she ate a bunch of pickled beets. Her urine had a pinkish color to it. I raced her to the Dr. who said it was the beets, and that excessive amounts of watermelon will do the same thing. There is a third food that will do that but he could not remember what it was. Some 56 years later we both remember that episode. What I am saying is that beet juice is a strong substance.

The dog is up to date with the hair colors!

This story reminds me of the time I dyed my roommates long haired white cat a beautiful blue for April Fools Day. I used paste food coloring on a fine tooth comb to do it. The kitty thought she was just being pampered. My roommate thought it was hilarious. She tinted my cat, (white with gray spots) a nice green while I slept that night. I still remember people's faces when they met our kitties. I don't decorate cake anymore so no more colorful cats, although my sister just adopted a long haired white dog......I have to run to the store......:p
