Very nice, she goes with the picture behind her. Looks like they are both from the same era.

I kind of knew, without even looking that this was going to be something right up my alley. Love this and the background.

I would like to encourage you to do a picture show of how you make them. It would be very interesting to see.

I love her! Thanks for sharing this most interesting traditional doll.
peace

Thanking you Ube Quilting. The watercolour painting was done by my friend Christopher Marsen. His work is truly awesome! Check out the Bermuda Arts Centre in Dockyard Bermuda. I thought the antique colours were a perfect background for Vanessa. I learned from world renown doll maker Ronnie Chameau. And a friend came to my house a did a demo. Truly amazing technique. When Ronnie taught the class, she was a wealth of Bermuda history and funny stories. I felt truly blessed to be able to hear her teach. I've only made three banana leaf dolls. The 'Shell Seeker' was torn apart by my loving adoable kitties! I'll post pix of my first and also a Bermuda Onion Bag that is woven out of a Palmetto leaf. Ronnie taught that class too The gardeners used them to collect....wait for it......Bermuda Onions out of the gardens over 300 years ago! You should see the replica thatch house that Ronnie has recreated! She also makes replica Bermuda doll house!!!
