Schmetz...is the needle that was recommended to me. I use a 90-14 or an 80-12 for my Bernina 1230.

The consensus seams to be Schmetz! That is also what was advised by my LQS when I bought my machine. She only sells 2 brands of needles - Bernina and Schmetz. I have never had any trouble using these on my Bernina.

I've been told the Organ needles are fine for embroidery or straight stitching, they're the titanium brand I use, but I also have ordinary Schmetz needles.
