Big treeskirt design needed
Please help. I've made my cousin a regular tree skirt. Now I find out, after buying their new home, they have a 15' Christmas tree. What kind of design can i do that's that large? the room is blues and black, and the tree decorated in blue black, silver and gold. HELP please.

I think the Log Cabin Star makes a large tree skirt.

Add a ruffle? Maybe a pieced border?

A few years back, I made a tree skirt for DD whose 12 ft tree has a diameter of 82+". It was simple because her tree is so wide and the branches start so low that an elaborate tree skirt would have been a waste- her words. Just a circle with four sections and two alternating fabrics. On the back I used a wide backing muslin. My neighbor bought one just last month- same 12 ft height but the diameter is much smaller at less than 60". Your cousin may provide you with some insight! Good luck and keep us posted.

i'll go look at the sight now. my cousins dad said at least 60".
He offered to pay, but i want it to be a Christmas gift. I'd love to send him the fabric lists so he can see what it's costing. I don't think they have any idea. but they sure appreciate what i make for them. thanks again. |

My daughter wanted one a few years ago in Cean blue so I made it and put applique cutouts of snow flakes on it. To the snowflakes I added beading..it was so pretty. She used it one year and have not seen it since then in her Christmas photos since then!
