Blood pressure monitors?
I need to get a blood pressure monitor for at home use. Does anyone here use one and what type or brand do you have? I looked online and at Walmart, and there are so many different ones. Thanks for your help.

We have an Omron, seems to be good. We got it at our Walmart.

I have a Omron from Wal-Mart. When I bought it, I showed it to my midwife to ask what she thought. She said it is actually the same one she has to lend to patients should they need one for home.

I have a Delwa Star which fits on the wrist. Never had a problem with it and it rings true to the Dr. office one.
|
Ours came from CVS, their brand, and was recommended by our doctor. She said it is just as good as more expensive brands.

I got one for my wrist at Wal-mart but my Doctor likes the one like she uses, on the arm. so back I went. i got one by ReliOn. funny thing was when i went back and told her, she said the wrist one should be fine. too late now! anyway, it works fine.

Yes, need to carry monitors to doctors office and check to see if readings are accurate. The nurses never seen to mind checking them.

I am a retired nurse. Most of the arm cuffs are good. Don't use a wrist cup as they are not accurate.

My hubby's visiting nurse (after his open heart surgery a few years ago) said the wrist ones were just as accurate. She suggested it for him to track his BP daily for her. I also like it because my arm is too fat for the arm cuff.

A wrist one doesn't register on me. I like the cuff type.
