I have chickens too, so fresh eggs and never had much luck peeling them, but even 'ugly' deviled eggs taste good! I'm thinking the EGGIES thing is the way to go on fresh farm eggs?

I put about 1/8 of a cup of vinegar in the water before I put the eggs in cold water. Boil 5 minutes them let cool in the water off the stove. Then peel. Works everytime for me!!!!

We also have chickens and the best way I have found is to boil uncovered for 10-15 minutes, let sit with a lid on the pan for another 10-15 minutes, rinse with cold water and peel. It seems to work most of the time, but not all of the time. Make sure you boil eggs that are approx. the same size.

Put eggs in water to cover, but lid on. Bring water to a boil. As soon as the water does a rolling boil. TURN OFF. Let stand for 10 minutes. (don't take the lid off) After ten minutes let run in COLD water for 1 minute. After the one minute, drain. Put the lid back on and shake. When you shake it, it breaks the shell and peels very easy. (this also works on old eggs)

If you don't catch the membrane in the egg -it will never peel. Buy yourself a gadget to boil eggs and you will have less problems. I always have boiled eggs in my refrigerator.-- J

I have my own chickens and have found the eggs that are about 7 to 10 days boil best and then the shell is easily removed - I boil for 10to 15mins and then run cold water in the saucepan and then start to shell. Dont have too much trouble then
