spray bottles (with water) work well on cats and dogs - both mine have learnt what that bottle means didn't take long either now only have to wave it at either of them if they are being naughty and off they go!! lol

My sons drop off cats & dogs when going away for the weekend. We use Sentry Calming collars for both dogs and cats. Keeps the household at peace until they are picked up again. It is all natural pheromones. The smell quiets them down.

There is that line between having the pets around for company and keeping them out of trouble.

I know Misty would be hanging from it too. She already does on the one at the back door, especially since3 I have to lock her inside. she is only 8 weeks old.

Annya, hooray for adopting a new kitten. Years of love and fun ahead. If she tries to get to the needle while you sew, just gently blow in her face. She'll back up and nothing will be wet. BE VERY CAREFUL (says the voice of experience) with pins and needles. I now keep mine covered always. Cost $2,000.00 to have a needle extracted from our kitten. Thank God I had the money.

Also be careful of threads - one of mine got his toes wrapped in a thread (that was the Mr. Chew on the Thread cat).

My granddaughter spotted it and we got it unwrapped.

One very smart quilter put up a screen door by her sewing room. That way kitty can look in and be safe at the same time.

Get a spray bottle of water. It only takes a spritz or two and they will avoid.

I do that as well but use the air I clean the computer with. Doesn't hurt but when I pick it up it's amazing how invisible my cats can get!

please keep the kitten away from the machine. it's like having a baby on your lap while driving your car.
if you have a separate room to sew, shut the door. i had to put a folding bi-fold type door on my room to keep my cat out. he got used to waiting for me outside on the sofa. kept him safer that way. one Vet bill was enough!!
