Bonnie Hunter Heading to New Zealand

I saw that Bonnie Hunter is heading out for New Zealand. I can't say that I'm not jealous! I've been in America for 13 years now and there are times I definitely miss it. Hubby has promised me a family trip back, but I want the kids to be old enough to enjoy it and appreciate it, so a few more years yet. I hope Bonnie shares many pictures of her trip and makes next mystery quilt inspired by New Zealand!

I have relatives in Australia but the long flights are not for me anymore. New Zealand would be amazing!

Too long a trip for me if staying only a week.

I've been there several times and always found it amazing. DH and I had planned to go back to Australia and New Zealand for our 50th. I'd love to go again, even though the trip is long - and expensive.

I agree, I would like at least a month for a good visit. Two weeks for the North Island and at least two weeks for the South Island. I grew up in the North Island in Whanganui, but I never got a chance to visit the South Island. It was always on my bucket list. There is so many majestic mountains and history in the South Island!

Sometimes I "drive" the Google map street views of Whanganui and look at our old houses and my late Oma's house.

The house floor plans are really different and unique in New Zealand too, with long hallways greeting you at the front door. I've saved a couple of screen shots of house plans. I think it would be so cool to custom build a house in the USA with one of these floor plans... with a basement if in tornado alley of course!

They must not like bathrooms that much. LOL

I noticed that too! LOL

That's too funny about the bathroom observation, because when I arrived in America, I thought that Americans were obsessed with the number of bathrooms! I didn't understand the need for so many per household... Still don't, honestly!
