boston marathon

there was a explosion lot of people hurt is on news right now. how sad

quiltingeileen 04-15-2013 11:32 AM

Just saw it on the news. Several people hurt and now at hospitals in the city. They said there were 2 explosions and they are not sure if they were intentional or not. The bomb squad is on the scene trying to figure it all out. Thank God most of the runners had already came through. I live in Mass. and this is a big day that draws huge crowds to the city.

nativetexan 04-15-2013 11:33 AM

I just read that. people. box cutters, etc. I do so wish they would take stock of their lives and do good with them.

Boston1954 04-15-2013 12:30 PM

I was born and raised just 48 miles south of Boston. This feels like it has happened to neighbors. It could very well be that some people I know are there. It brings tears to my eyes to think that the human mind would plan something like this at a sporting event.

EllieGirl 04-15-2013 01:05 PM

This is so sad! It's a special day in Boston and terrorists, whether foreign or domestic, ruin people's lives!

IBQUILTIN 04-15-2013 01:06 PM

Another sad day in our Country. We need to join together and pray for all those injured and their families. The fear must be so traumatic

Tink's Mom 04-15-2013 01:20 PM

What a nightmare...praying for all those involved.

quilterCDN 04-15-2013 01:28 PM

This is so horrible. So sad for everyone, especially the Newtown families that were at the 26 mile marker.

Monstookie 04-15-2013 03:57 PM

Please pray for my city. I work a block way from the explosion. This is a great city, a lot of young people with colleges on just about every corner. This is tragic, my husband is a marathon runner, has run the marathon 14 times. Not this year. We know so many people who just go out and cheer the runners on. Its usually such a fun day.

EllieGirl 04-15-2013 04:09 PM

Monstookie, Boston is one of my favorite cities to visit. There is so much history and the people are very nice there. Prayers to all in your city, those who were killed or hurt, and those who witnessed the horror!

Teddybear Lady 04-15-2013 04:12 PM

Praying for those affected by this senseless act.

francie yuhas 04-15-2013 05:22 PM

This is just unconscionable! The perpetrators will get their due one way or the other. My heart goes out to folks involved!

It's just so sad that this is what our country has become!

lfstamper 04-15-2013 06:12 PM

Wish all this violence would stop! Can hardly watch the news anymore as yet another terrorist event.

Anniedeb 04-15-2013 07:30 PM

It is truly heartbreaking. I had to turn off the TV for awhile this afternoon. Just couldn't take all that heartbreak. Praying for everyone involved, and thankful for all the responders who step up when their own safety could be at risk.

Jingle 04-16-2013 04:19 AM

I'm sure this was planned, I heard there were ball bearings in the bombs. Seem they like to hit where they will be lots of injured people. I heard a couple lost their lives. So many sick minded people in our world. Don't know why there seems to be so many angry people.

tessagin 04-16-2013 05:29 AM

Prayers from the Gulf!

AZ Jane 04-16-2013 05:30 AM

Not to keep this going but a reporter just asked a witness, "What did it feel like?" I so wanted them to say "It was just like a bomb went off". Can you tell I usually hate reporters and I really hate stupid reporters!!

EllieGirl 04-16-2013 06:10 AM

I just don't understand why people feel it's necessary to do this. Whether it's Islamic extremists or American extremists, why? Why hurt innocent people?

fran624 04-16-2013 06:12 AM

Our prayers go out to all the people in Boston especially to the parents of the 8 yr. old boy. It reminds of 9/11 It was said the terrorists were on the run. I guess that means they are running to our country for pay back. God help us all. Heard this morning they are questioning a Saudi man. I wonder if any answers will come out of it.

mjhaess 04-16-2013 07:27 AM

It is so sad what our world has become.....I told a friend that it hurts me to think that my grandchildren will never know the feeling of safety that I knew growing up....we are living in a world that has gone crazy......

Wintersewer 04-16-2013 08:11 AM

The boy who was killed and his sister, who lost a leg, go to the same school that my grandchildren go to. Last night our daughter called...very upset. This morning she had to tell her kids that one of their friends is dead, his sister lost a leg and the mother sustained brain damage. Lots of evil in the world....

That is horrible. It makes it more real when it hits close to home. I think this family's story is the most heartbreaking.

Carol Ann 04-16-2013 11:28 AM

My friend Andrea ran the marathon yesterday, she just crossed the finish line at 2:47 pm and was approximately 100 yards when the first BOMB exploded at 2:49 pm. Thank God she's OK!! All her friends who ran with her are OK. We both live approximately thirty miles from Boston, she in Foxboro and I live in Mansfield. God Bless America!!

cr12cats 04-16-2013 01:02 PM

That was so terrible it beyond words. I wonder though that those doing these type of attacks on innocent unarmed and unsuspecting people realize that we consider them the COWARDS of the world. also--- I better stop here.

I feel as you do. When I was a child I could play outside alone!! I use to walk uptown as a young teenager to go buy my favorite "Tiger Beat" magazine. I don't even let my 10 yr. old granddaughter walk to our mail box across the street without me being right outside the door watching her. It's a very different world than it was and it's not going to get better. I know about The End Times as predicted in the book of Revelation. So that is Good News!

My daughters, 36 & 34, live in the same neighborhood they grew up in. There was a street behind us and there was only one entrance into the area, so basically the only people who drove up there lived up there. About a mile down the street was a pizza parlor. When the kids were 10-11 years old we thought nothing of letting them walk there. About three miles away is a bike path that goes across the city. When the kids were in middle school we let them ride there bikes to the bike trail and ride by themselves. They live within half a mile of the elementary school where they attended and walked home from as first and second graders. My oldest grandson will start kindergarten in August. There is no way that child will walk to or from school. Nothing is safe anymore!

Gannyrosie 04-16-2013 04:37 PM

@monstookie, I have not stopped praying and asking "why." My eldest daughter graduated from BU and I visisted every spring break. I love the city, the history, and the Sox's. We may never know why someone or someone's felt they needed to do this. There is always good that comes out of any tragedy, hopefully we may all find peace one day.

trolleystation 04-16-2013 05:38 PM

This is a 'nightmare'. The days of feeling completely safe in the USA are over.........................

Momo 04-17-2013 09:42 AM

Somehow this reminds me of 911 and now comes the letters with the poison in them.
Oh, the mention of 911 reminds me of a book I just read: The Harbingers. It is an amazing book. Had to do with 911. That's all I will say about the book. No one has paid me to push the book and I can't even recall the author's name.

MimiBug123 04-17-2013 08:55 PM

I just don't understand why people want to hurt others. Why would it be so hard for everyone to just get along? Prayers for all the injured and for the famillies of those killed.

Ombragrise 04-18-2013 01:50 AM

Another horrible day in your Country ! I pray from Paris !
