Could someone tell me how the homemade purses got the name of bow tucks?

I'm curious too......seems like everyone is making them. I guess I might want to look for that pattern.

I think that is probably how they got there name.

I think the others are correct on the thinking behind it, but I guess the designer just wanted something that sounded catchy.
