Brother VQ3000

I hope someone can help me with a problem with my VQ3000. Recently as I am sewing the machine beeps and stops. The start button turns red. No message to tell me what the problem might be. I check the threading, etc., turn it off and back on and it works fine for a while. Then it happens again. I haven’t a clue. Any thoughts? TIA

Have you checked the bobbin area and cleaned it? Does it have the brown magnetic ring under the bobbin? Is it in place?

Does this happen in other stitch modes? Zig-zag or decorative stitches? Is this a combo (sewing/embroidery) machine?

The machine may need a service check or cleaning from the repair shop. Good luck!

Rhonda. This is a sewing only machine. I have checked everything but only in straight stitch mode. I will try that next. I know it may mean a trip to the shop. Unfortunately the shop near me is still closed due to the virus. Thanks for the suggestions.

Do you have the shop's email or a contact number? Our LQS owners were still taking text and phone calls. They even delivered my machine to me personally when it needed a calibration. These are desperate times you know especially when we have machine issues.

OK, I think you have a control panel that you can scroll through settings. Scroll through the pages in the preferences. Look at each setting to make sure it is on the default (setting is in black box).

Are you using the start/stop or a foot pedal?

Have you changed the needle position with the L/R shift button? Check that is in the default. This should be either 0.00 or a 3.50 on that tab.

Well I don’t know what did it but my machine fixed itself. Sewing just fine. But I do plan to take it in for cleaning and servicing as soon as possible. Thanks for all your suggestions.
