Barb_MO 01-08-2010 07:08 AM

That's about how cold it is at my house

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 01-08-2010 07:10 AM

Here in central IL, too. Wind chill is said to be -11 right now. I can't verify that because I'm not getting out from under my afghan to go outside.

i don't know how you all did that. i think lower central michigan has just gotton down to 10 degrees F. and that was for just 2 or 3 nites. a couple weeks back. yes, there are cold fronts coming down out of canada and going straight south to Mo and Ark. where are you from Blytheville? lived there for l0 yrs as a military brat.

nativetexan 01-08-2010 09:22 AM

yes but I'm in the coldest State in the U.S. at the moment. Colorado, double burrrrr. we had -25 below zero wind chill.

Shadow Dancer 01-08-2010 09:33 AM

We are a balmy -29C this morning, going up to a high of -18C this afternoon and then it's plunging back down to -30C tonight.

It's almost bikini weather for the polar bears!! LOL

sewNso 01-08-2010 09:34 AM

It must be banned and done away with.

Especially considering all your cold weather is headed my way this weekend. :( If anything, this weather is a good reason to keep quilting -- keeping North America warm!

ljsunflower 01-08-2010 10:15 AM

Marsye, is that the real temp at your house? If so, you'd better have the heat cranked up! That's cold!!

Please keep the cold when it gets to your part of the country. We would like the weather to stay above 20 here.

I stole it off Google but don't tell! :|

littlehud 01-08-2010 02:43 PM

We are supposed to get down to -22 tonight. That's way to cold for me.

janRN 01-08-2010 02:49 PM

It's cold here, too, about 14 for the high but what's driving me nuts is the snow. It's snowed everyday since Christmas. Just 1-2 inches at a time but like every few hours. We did get 7 inches since this morning on top of our previous snow. I'm so tired of shoveling three or four times a day and having to clean off my car before and after work. It's never going to quit!! (sorry-I'm getting very whiney! LOL)

Boston1954 01-08-2010 03:50 PM

I have been told that when we get this kind of weather down here, it is called an Alberta Clipper. I have been to Edmonton and I think it is colder now than when I was there on vacation.

Today I was quilting while sitting directly in front of the heater. This is an old trailer and it only got to 58* INSIDE the house.

Eddie 01-08-2010 03:54 PM

Got Popsicles? It was 13 this morning here in central AR.

Lostn51 01-08-2010 04:18 PM

Global warming at its best!!

It barely made it over 20 today and its dropping down in the single digits maybe to 0* tonight.

What was the temp in Colorado?
It was 6 degrees in Fort Worth this morning!
Too cold to stay outside for long.
Stay warm everyone.
So much for global warming.

Lostn51 01-09-2010 08:18 AM

I woke up to 16 this morning which looks like its starting to warm up a bit. I will be glad when all of this is over because I have things I need to do around here.

Its going to be in the 40's for the coming week and the 50's by Thursday :D

paintedquilt 01-09-2010 08:48 AM

Darn good reason to stay inside and quilt :-D

fireworkslover 01-09-2010 08:50 AM

Hey, don't complain - at least it's ABOVE zero! We've been below zero mostly during the night but some during the day too since Dec. 30th. Jan. 2 was -30 when we left to drive home, after visiting a friend's cabin up north for New Year's Eve.

quilter68 01-09-2010 10:21 AM

Hi Everybody,

PRETTY COLD HERE IN S.E.PA. I HEARD SOMETHING FALL/GET KNOCKED OVER IN MY BASEMENT DURING THE NIGHT. IT CAN STAY THERE. IT BEING SOMETHING ALIVE, MAYBE A MOLE; WHATEVER! I COULDN'T CHASE A DOG OUT ON THESE COLD DAYS.
AND I AM NOT GOING DOWN THERE TO FIND OUT WHAT IT IS.

Lyn 01-09-2010 10:38 AM

You guys are colder than NH. What's up with that?

I am up in the north central part...a little over an hour from Branson, MO. Mt. Home is the largest town near us on one side, Harrison on the other. I really don't know much else, although I was getting to know more until this past year. I have gone to Mt. Home to the oncologist, Mt. Home to the plastic surgeon, Mt. Home to the surgeon...do we see a trend here? I don't go anywhere? That's it. I will though. I may get a traveling sales job or something!!! Hahaha

Oklahoma Suzie 01-09-2010 03:53 PM

I think it's cold all over.

No, almost opposite sides of the state. :?

Judith 01-09-2010 11:30 PM

Shadow Dancer, Relief is on the way. I was talking to my daughter in Edmonton this evening and they have +1 today. That means we should get it here in Manitoba in a couple of days and then on to you in Ontario. They don't call us tough Canucks for nothing! (Just to encourage you, it was -37* with the wind chill here today! We usually go for a two to three mile walk every morning. Today we walked about half a mile or so and then went straight to the coffee shop! Enough is enough!)

Elisabrat 01-10-2010 05:51 AM

um burr its 47? cold for me. I am a weather wuss. Time for that hot buttered rum I would be thinking. Grand excuse to be warm all day.
