Buckwheat Hulls?
I found a pattern for a booster seat that I want to make for my DD. I got all the materials but the 3lbs of Buckwheat Hulls. I am assuming I can only order them online as I looked at JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby's website and they don't list them. Is there a place that is better priced than another? I found a 5lb bag on Amazon for $30, which I guess is not too bad. Anyone used any before? Is there a cheaper substitute?
Thanks. |
Check a local feed store? I recently made some weighted blankets, and I found all kinds of suitable stuff for really good prices.

Sabrina, Here's a link for a source that is less expensive and serves a great purpose... I hope this helps.

Thanks Heidi!
willferg, what did you use in your blankets? I have made one with the doll pellets but would like to try other stuff too. |
I ordered 4lbs of the hulls for the seat and 2lbs of the seeds to try in a heating pad. Shipping and all was $29, not too bad.

Hmmmm, I have a small pillow with those that i love but would love to find a king size pillow. perhaps i need to make my own!

I had never heard of them until this pattern. I hope I like them.

If you are looking for a light weight, soft filling, the styrofoam pellets that Walmart carries for bean bag chairs might work.

I bought a buck wheat hull pillow at Shopco and opened the seam and used them. It was cheaper than ordering them.
