Expected to see a dog. I have a beagle named Buddy. Reminds me of my DD who used to have one that rode on her shoulder.

grammiepamie 12-12-2010 10:47 AM

He is a very beautiful rooster.

LovinMySoldier 12-12-2010 10:52 AM

When I was little my siblings and I use to hatch about 6-12 chicken eggs every Spring. Since my brother was allergic to cats and dogs we never really had any real pets. But we sure did love our chickens. If you turn them over on their backs when they are first hatched you can teach them to just lay like that. So then when they are full grown you can flip them over and lay them on the ground and have them play "dead" :) Our full grown chickens would also ride on our shoulders lol. We had a lot of fun with them. Looks like you have a lot of fun with your buddy!

MissM 12-12-2010 11:16 AM

How cool...bet you are an early riser!

He thinks he is a puppy

twospoiledhuskies 12-12-2010 02:31 PM

That is so cool. I had a banty rooster that loved to cuddle and follow me all around. The previous owner would bring him into the house to watch TV. Most people would think a chicken wouldn't make a very good pet, but he was great.

Thanks for sharing :-D

rdupuis 12-12-2010 02:39 PM

Then you would understand what I meen.

Cool, and he can wake you up to quilt!

EagarBeez 12-13-2010 07:52 AM

makes me think, when I was a little girl, my grandfather, used to whistle to the birds and have them eat right from his hand. When he was in the house, he had a parakeet that would sit on his shoulder until it was bedtime and he would go in his cage. He drank coffee from a little thimble, when grandma and grandpa had coffee and would march on the floor with my grandfather to German music
You seem to possess that gentle nature with birds and animals.
Thank you so much for sharing, it's a delight

You are a gentle soul.

awf60 12-13-2010 05:57 PM

I used to have a pet rooster named Rodney. Raised him from a chick. Used to lay in our arms like a baby. Very upset when the dog "played" with him!

Shemjo 12-13-2010 07:05 PM

Buddy sure was a pretty one! Looks like you can make a pet out of any creature you choose! Love the pictures!

juneayerza 12-13-2010 09:40 PM

You are a real critter lover! That's the best way to be.

Wow where were you when I was looking for a husband, I couldn't find an animal lover like me. I also wanted all my young life to be a veterinarian, my mom said girls don't do that. Men just don't seem to put up or agree with me having lots of animals-when I was divorced I made sure my kids had plenty of animals around-they even said that a person who doesn't have animals house is boring! Oh I loved all your pictures of Alice you were blessed with her! Linda

rdupuis 12-14-2010 07:23 PM

Hello Chi Chi;
I have come to the conculion that you are an animal lover, or you are not. That is something you atre born with. I am so sorry that you didn't become a Vet. The animals missed out.
