Bunions

Which brand shoes do you wear if you have bunions. Right now I wear runners. Time to buy new shoes and I'm tired of runners. Any suggestions.

I very seldom wear shoes. I stick with Easy Spirit. They have a larger toe box and are very comfortable.

Try Crocs. Not only are they comfy and roomy, but they are also great to wear while quilting at the frame. No knee or back problems, either. Birkenstocks work well, too.

The podiatrist I go to believes in Crocs so much that he sells them in his office. Keens are great!

I wear New Balance ex wide. Lot of room for bunions and toes.

i WORE SNEAKERS. HAD MINE REMOVED, AND WAS WALKING WITHOUT CRUTCHES THE NEXT DAY. Wasn't as bad as everyone said it would be, then again I've had over 25 surgeries, going in for the 10th spinal next week.
get it removed, makes your life easier.

true4uca 09-18-2014 09:11 AM

Lynnie, A friend of mine had it done. I didn't see her till 4 months later & she was still on crutches. She was telling everyone not to have it done. Saw her 2 months later and she was saying it's the best thing she had done. Of course I looked at a you tube video & that really convinced me to just wait for laser surgary. Lol.

Try out SAS, they have many kinds of shoes and they are so very comfortable. Also made in USA.

madamekelly 09-18-2014 09:21 AM

I have one foot that is a 'C' width and the other is an 'EE' so buying shoes was always a nightmare, until I discovered Alegrias. They are made wide and come in wonderful bright colors and interesting prints. I can finally walk with no pain! Dad always said I should throw away the shoes and wear the boxes! Lol!

Sketchers has a new walker that is like wearing socks. Very fashionable too

raynhamquilter 09-18-2014 04:45 PM

Yep, I wore Sketcher 2Go all summer. I don't want to give them up. Like walking on air.

dellareya 09-18-2014 05:04 PM

I love wearing SAS shoes. They are not cheap, but they are worth the price. I wore cheap shoes for years and years. My feet suffered because of the them. Now I treat myself right by wearing SAS.

quiltingcandy 09-18-2014 05:21 PM

I also buy and wear SAS shoes. I have bone spurs in my heels and it was so hard to walk in anything but Nikes and various other brands, so needed something more professional in appearance and my friend turned me on to SAS. I had to get all dressed up to attend a wedding in June, bought a pair of dress shoes from SAS and was able to wear them the entire day.

I wear Merrills. They helped solve all my foot problems. Hope you find a shoe that works for you.

I love Easy Spirit...clog like called Travelon. I had my bunion removed about 8 years ago and I am very glad that I did!

Same here! Love my Merrill jungle mocs, like having my foot encased in a cloud. For backwoods dog walking I buy Keenes.

I had my bunions removed years ago and have had no problems until the past few years. Now I have RA and my feet have become very deformed with a prominent hammer toe and misshapen toes. I also have wide feet and need D width. New Balance shoes with mesh, not leather, tops are comfortable. I also wear gel insoles to cushion my feet.

true4uca 09-19-2014 05:10 PM

Yeah, I just googled Merrill's and there are 4 stores in a 10 mile radius of me. I'll be checking them out next week as I will not go to a mall on the weekend.

Thanks for all the info. You never know who you need to pass it on to.

BETTY62 09-22-2014 10:25 PM

Lennie, wishing you a speedy recovery from your surgery. You and your family will be in my prayers.

aronel 09-23-2014 04:58 PM

Skecher Go Walks, they are extremely comfortable, I've had a failed bunion surgery and I can stand and walk in these for hours.

DOTTYMO 09-23-2014 11:24 PM

What do you wear with the bunionette? This is on the outer side of foot below little toe. I have just had my for in plaster after a break and it has made the bunion and bunionette very painful and to get comfort wearing shoe 2 sizes larger than need for comfort.
