OH MY! How cute are these.

Sewnoma 11-01-2014 04:35 AM

Oh what a cute idea! They look tasty, too.

joyce blint 11-01-2014 06:34 AM

Those are really cute. I'm puzzled. What did you use for the "thread"?

ykreeves 11-01-2014 06:39 AM

Too cute, recipe please!

Tartan 11-01-2014 07:02 AM

Sweet! I might have to try those button cookies, simple but cute!

They are adorable. It looks like twine as the thread. Maybe you could use thing licorice. Doesn't Twislers make a thin rope candy that can be separated? I'll surely have to try making these.

OH Yum!!!!

QuiltnNan 11-01-2014 09:56 AM

This is bakers twine. However my hubby suggested the thin licorice.

The recipe is just a basic sugar cookie recipe. I plan on doing a tutorial in the near future. Stay Tuned!

Debbie, Twislers's does make a thin licorice. My hubby suggested that when he say me sewing with twine. He is a fast learner!

Hi Joyce,

I didn't think of licorice at the time. And 44 girls at the retreat survived--I told them they could use it as dental floss if need be!

Those are just too cute and a good idea for a sewing group refreshment. I'll watch for the tutorial so I can make some for treats at one of our meetings.

What a great idea for a quilt retreat treat! Yep, the black licorice would be great for the "ties" on those cookies. Looks like you had a great time also. And I agree, your long arm quilting is fabulous! If only ......

PenniF 11-02-2014 08:26 AM

Just too cute !!! Great thinking !

sewbeeit42 11-02-2014 10:58 AM

I saw a similar recipe in a magazine and saved it. They used royal icing in a very thin strip to make the "thread" so they could make it edible. I participate in a cookie exchange each year and plan to make them for that.

cute cookies and cookie pops

travelinggramma 11-02-2014 05:25 PM

Finished two sets of 8 placemats for my mom. I found the material for the next boom and will wash and start cutting next week to have it ready to go! Won't have any time until January so best to have it ready. I have an idea of what I want to do with your F8ths already.... always planning.
I sent three things to a friend so she could practice her long arm - so three things off my pile!! I love making the tops - but dislike sandwiching and quilting it. So I was more than willing when she asked if I had anything:)
Everyone stay warm - hope you enjoyed the extra hour this morning !!

travelinggramma 11-02-2014 05:46 PM

oops - posted in wrong thread

coopah 11-03-2014 05:32 AM

Those cookies are just the 'bee's knees.' Clever!

My time 11-03-2014 05:29 PM

These are so cute. Sorry to be a pest but what did you use to make the holes? I'm not much of a baker but I might give these a go.

I checked out your website as well. Your quilting is fantastic by the way.
