Can someone help me with a Pinterest question?
 

I am looking at quilt patterns on there,but all I see is where someone "pinned" them.How do you find the patterns????

You click on the picture to find the source of the original pin. If it came from a blog or forum usually you can find info about it. Sometimes it has taken me many websites and repins to find the original source.

Many times there is no pattern -- it may be a unique design posted on Flicrk. Or sometimes the photo is posted for inspiration only, because the pinner liked the general concept, or the color scheme, or the quilting motif.

If there is no pattern, look at the picture closely. Sometimes you can figure out how it is made and how to piece the blocks.

After you click on the picture it will open up and at the top will be a bar with a “Pin It” button, a “Like” button, a "visit site" or "image” button, a “send” button, and a “share” button. If there is a “visit site” button, click on it and you may be able to find the pattern, if there is just an “image” button you will only find the origin of the picture.

That is what I don't like about pinterest! Hate trying to figure out which picture might have a link to the pattern!

very helpful... I belong to Pinterest but I don't use it very often... I'll take Irishgal's suggestions to mind next time I visit Pinterest website.

And, a lot of times you click on something you'd like to see and it takes you to hundreds of other pins and the one you are looking for is not there.

I love Pinterest! I have over 7,000 followers on my "quilt ideas" board alone. I usually only pin quilts that have free patterns, but occasionally pin quilts that I describe as "inspiration". A previous member stated the correct way to find the origin of the pattern--"visit site". Occasionally when visiting the site it might be a challenge to find the pinned pattern (usually,when visiting site it should go directly to the pinned item). I have had "pinners" comment to me that they can't find the pattern---then I do a more detailed search myself and post a comment on exact location of the pinned item. Don't give up on Pinterest! It is such a great "idea" source!

Love love love Pinterest. It has greatly expanded my bucket list and has become the first place I check for quilt designs, color inspiration. It's greatly enhanced my recipe collection too.

Pinterest is for posting pictures not patterns so if you find the pattern info for a item there, it's a bonus.

Pinterest annoys me for the same reason, sometimes I click link after link and never do find a pattern, just more pins!

Instead of saving a photo to your computer and going through all those steps you can often just right click it and select "Search Google for This Image" when it finds similar images it will have the site listed where they are found.
