I thought of that too, but she has such little feet and all. Wonder what she would say if she would talk in front of me?

She looks so sweet no matter what breed she is!!
Those eyes...looks like a keeper!!

Eddie 09-27-2009 04:18 PM

Now that's about the cutest darn dog I've ever seen. I'm not really much of a dog person, but that is one dog I sure would find to be a keeper. She just looks like she's a lot of fun.

We live in a rural area and have problems with people dumping pets. Right now I have a mama cat and her 4 kittens living in my shed. She showed up over Labor Day. She was soooo thin, so I fed her. The second day, my husband and I thought we heard a tiny mewl and thought oh oh a kitten. Then when she was fed for a couple days, she started showing that she had milk, but never heard the kittens again. Every time I fed her it seemed one of her teats was damp, so I was almost sure she had at least one kitten. Well, yesterday, just before we left to come to Rochester, NY to visit my son, I was at work and DH was looking for something in the shed and found 4 adorable kittens! Oh dear!!!! What am I going to do? Already have 2 indoor cats. I can't keep them all, but have bonded with mama cat (a calico, I named Patches) and fallen in love with one of the kittens. My grandson is in love with another that he has named Clyde, but that leaves two. I wish pet owners would be responsible and get their pets spayed or neutered whenever possible! Our local SPCA has a spay/neuter program for low income families.

Anyway, enjoy your new soul mates!

My Ginger, (cat) is the mama of four kittens that dear daughter, kept two, and found homes for two.
The problem here, is the pound charges ppl to bring animals in. PPL don't want to pay money for animals that are not theirs.
I don't know about other states, but it is illegal to 'dump' animals here, in Florida. I always get my pets fixed.
We need a program like you have, that would cut costs for those that can't afford more. Wait till grbaby finds out, Nana has four pets now! :D

I ask our oldest DD to go up to our place and feed and water our cats (indoor) and the new "shed kitty" as she had been calling her, while we were in NY Hero the dog has been boarded). I spoke with her today and she said she had taken our DGS (10 yrs old) up along with her and he said that he will go up every day now to see them! :D

Aren't grandkids just the best?

All of our pets have been rescue animals or stays, dumped off. They seem to love you extra much to repay you for saving them.

momto4 09-27-2009 06:59 PM

Definitely part beagle. We have beagles and im SURE he is part beagle.... as to the rest.. I am not sure at all :) But she is DEFINITELY adorable for sure.

Gwyn 09-27-2009 07:37 PM

If nothing else, she is a 'good' doggy. :D

wvdek 09-27-2009 09:19 PM

ok, I wasn't going to post, just lurk before going back to studying, but then I saw Bitsy.
How cute and what a face! From my days working an animal shelter, I would have 'labeled' her beagle and Jack Russell Terrier.
Please get her spayed soon. Be sure her milk is completely dried up. You don't want excess bleeding during surgery. Also, if I may, her nails need a good trim every couple of weeks. If she won't tolerate you doing it, please pay to have your vet do it. I saw too many hounds uncared for and their nails were atrocious.
She is definitely a keeper. Give her a biscuit, scratch behind the ears and a hug from me.
Thanks again to all who adopt from a shelter.
PS - keep the cat. Bitsy and the cat are already buddies. Hubby won't mind.

k3n 09-27-2009 10:53 PM

Oh what a cutie pie! I'd agree with the beagle/dachsie cross.

She has surely fallen on her feet ending up with you Mousie! :D

Bevanger 09-28-2009 03:59 AM

I definitly see the beagle & dashund. She's adoreable.

I think your right, about them loving you extra. I just step onto back porch, and I have a whole menagerie, wagging and meowing for MY attention. They love me! and I love them, right back

I just noticed that she has a curl to her tail...is that common to beagle's too?
She sure can leap through the air, when she runs! so cute! :D

She definitely is a good doggie, and in less than a week, has brought tons of love to a somewhat lonely kitty cat, (Ginger), me, and, brought her little kitty friend, to a new home too.
Now BC needs to come around from the front porch and join the party.
I think he thinks, they are all to frisky for him.
He is very loving, as long as you sit and pet him, but seems to look at the others like: what are you all so happy about?

Maybe, Jack Russel, is where the curl of the tail comes from?
I think the milk is dried up. I have a nail trimmer for dogs. Wonder if she'll be still, probably if I take her in my lap.
yup, going to get some doggy biscuits, tomorrow.
The cat is staying. She's so little, I don't think hubby is paying a mind, as long as they don't bother him

thank you, Amma. did you arrange this to make me feel better?
The new kitty looks so much like Ginger, I am actually going to ask my DD, since she only lives 3 1/2 miles away, and had given one kitten (Ginger was the mom to four that showed up at DD house)...
anyway, she had gave two of the four kittens away, and one went to a neighbor.
I have the mother, Ginger, and I am wondering, if the neighbor, just didn't want the kitten anymore. So I am going to ask DD to check.
I will keep her. DH hasn't said another thing, and she/he? is sweet. They all like being here, and play together, so, I don't see a problem. :D

Mousie 09-28-2009 02:31 PM

well since I am sure she wouldn't mind, K3N, wrote Bitsy a welcoming song:

"It was an itsy, Bitsy, teeny weeny,
Beagle cro-ossed with a wienie,
Who arrived at Mousie's one day!
An itsy, Bitsy, teeny weeny,
Beagle cro-ossed with a wienie,
And with Mousie she wanted to stay!"

Isn't that just the cutest little song?
I can't wait to teach it to my DGD.
I shall call her later, and by Friday after school,
we can serenade Bitsy!

did your terrier have a slightly curled tail?
her long body, and the curled tail, have me stumped.
I will find out, when she see the vet, but it may be a month or six weeks. How often do dogs go in heat?

Slightly curled tail.....yes. Dogs usually go into heat every 6 months but sometimes that varies.

Couldn't resist weighing in on your doggie....
I have a Jack Russel/Beagle, and I would say there are many
similarities...along with dachsund, I would say rat terrier & beagle?
Mine was a rescue too....

I am starting to think there is Jack Russell in there too.
You should see her glide through the air when she runs...like flying!
She loves the running too, and just happy with everything and everybody.
She has, however, learned she can jump the apparently, short fence, hubby put up, so more work for us to do.
Your pets are so cute! :D

They bring much love, funny antics, companionship and a new dynamic to a family!

Mousie 10-01-2009 11:57 AM

I do love my kitties, but BC doesn't get too close to Ginger, so, that left Ginger lonely, when I wasn't out there.
Now, she has a happy, friendly buddy, and I do believe, whatever else is in there, def. some Jack Russel Terrier.
She hops like a kangaroo! It's hilarious! What a sweet baby she it :D

k3n 10-01-2009 12:10 PM

She IS a sweetie! I love her little beetly eyebrows! :D
