Thanks jlong, that is it. You must have had some clue...I would have NEVER guessed that it was a foot stool. I have seen many antiques,having been a dealer for many years, but nothing like this. I am still not sure exatcly how you are supposed to put your legs on it......lol! The picture on the site looks like it is leaning against a wall. Hmmmm
