So my car is slowly deciding to turn on me. So I have been looking around at some used ones. I have found an SUV I really like so I was looking around to see what else is available So I have it narrowed down to 2, but I can't decide if all wheel drive is worth the extra cash or not. everything else between the 2 is the same. including the colour of it!
For those of you have AWD would you get it again? I hate making decisions, and this is a rather large one so any opinons would be appreciated. thanks!

Personally, I wouldn't be without all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. Just personal preference. I've been driving a 4x4 for the past 25 years.

Do you have to drive in a lot of snow? If so, it really helps.

Maybe it would help if you looked at Consumer Reports? I too had that choice w/my vehicle. One had better ratings than the other-just a suggestion? Good luck, and how exciting!!!

Definitely get all wheel o 4WD. I've been driving one for 35+ years & would never do w/o all wheel or 4WD again. Need it for the snow here & with you being in Canada, I guess you get a lot of snow too.
Checking Consumers Report would be a good way to compare the 2 you are looking at.

If you live in Canada, you have snow.
I would recommend AWD or 4WD!
Otherwise, you'll be sorry!

Is it full-time or shift-on-the-fly? Are you worried about the loss in gas mileage? I would recommend AWD or 4WD since you live in Canada and studded snow tires aren't an option for you. IMHO, small loss in gas mileage is worth the peace of mind and safety. If you decide to get AWD/4WD and have never driven it before, be sure to try it out on snow and wet pavement in a parking lot before you hit the roads -- the vehicle behaves differently than either front- or rear-wheel drive.

It might be worth the investment to check your local car rental agencies to see if the models you're considering are available to rent for a day or two.

4wd all the time, I love my Jeep.

My car is AWD and is a beast in bad weather - love it! Definitely worth the money to me.

AWD. I've owned two Subaru Foresters--7 years with each of them, and they are great cars, esp in the snow. I just bought another AWD--Suzuki. I'm hoping I like it as much as the Forester. Well worth the extra $$
