Car Pools
Do you prefer to go to guild meetings in a car pool or to drive yourself?

car pool when possible

I live too far out, over 25 miles from the closest guild, and have no one that lives near me, so I always drive myself. That being said, I would love to carpool. It gives you a chance to get know other people better, discuss your quilting projects or anything else that comes to mind. I like being social when I get the chance.

I would love to carpool, but there's no one to carpool with me.

Both methods have merit. If you car pool, there are the social aspects. Chatting with other quilters on the way can be a lot of fun. On the other hand, you have to deal with the one person who is chronically late (I used to car pool to things with one of those) and the woman who insisted on regaling the group with what she has done in minute detail (as in, first we drove down Clay Rd and turned right into a subdivision . . .) so that sometimes you wish you were alone :D I would actually rather go on my own time schedule and just meet up there.

I drive myself so I can arrived or leave when I want.

I like to drive myself. I have meetings at both the quilt shop and at a grocery store (upstairs room for evening guild meeting). Sometimes I want to shop afterwards or have other errands on the way home, so going with others might not work.

I ended up people who couldn't understand what the words "please do not wear fragrance or scented body lotions" meant so I gave up the idea of carpooling. I'd love to carpool since I enjoy socializing but it just hasn't worked out that way for me. Maybe in the future!

I'm picky about who I ride with, so I generally drive myself. I have been in cars with people who make me very nervous. I also like the flexibility of being able to leave when I want to and will often make several other stops while I am out.
