I want to make a quilt for our king size bed but don't know if I should do it. First my husband and I can't find a pattern that we both like. He wants a bargello but I don't like that pattern. Also we have a cats with just his back claws. The comforter that is on the bed now is kind of a tapestry that has pulled threads from the cat.
Those of you with cats and quilts on your bed, do the threads get pulled from your cats? I hate to spend the time and money if my cats claws will wreck it. |
I've had no problems, besides the hair. My quilt has been on the bed for about 5 years now.

My baby hasn't clawed any of my bedding. He's just left tell tale signs that I've been here! :-D

My cat doesn't do that, but does leave hair. A pattern that U might both like is one called, 'Bento Box'

My cat has all claws...on the rare occasion she's allowed on the bed...only when I'm sick in bed and she visits I have a separate little blanket for her to sit on. She knows she's not allowed off what we call her "island"..she's so smart...she knows it too...
Also since she's older now I have a little step stool at the foot of the bed she uses...you may try that. |
We all have quilts on our beds here and the cats claws don't hurt them.

i have three cats and put a blanket over my quilt. not happy about it but it protects it from their claws when they jump off the bed chasing each other.
when i had just one cat, i put a small purple blanket near the pillows and he used that. such a sweet kitty he was. oh yes, and they tend to throw up so i like the blanket for that too. |
Thanks everyone for your input and sarahconnor, I think I have that pattern!
