Hi everyone,
I noticed while working nursery @ church tonight that we probably need new covers for the changing pads. How hard is it to make some? I found a couple of tutorials on the internet - do you have any particular one you recommend? Or you own directions? Would using a flat sheet be okay for the fabric? I'm figuring it will be cheaper to make some than buy them. Thanks for your input! |
I made a new pad for the dresser/changing table I had for my son. It was quite simple. That was about 30 years ago, and with vinyl coated and oil-cloth fabrics now, it should be a breeze. I did it more to find one that was the right size than anything else.

I made a bunch this spring and was able to find prequilted fabric with vinyl on the back that was 44" wide. I cut them 20" wide and made two pads from each strip. I didn't like the pre-quilted print(too much white) so I quilted a more suitable fabric on top following the existing stitching lines. Then I rounded the corners (used a saucer for the curve) and bound them in wide bias binding (the 2 1/2" stuff I cut for my quilts). It worked really well and the change pads look great and the moms were happy.
