I want to change my user name. How do I do that? I would like to change it from ERhausfrau to just plain Edie. I see that I am the only Edie here and figure it would be ok, but I have tried to change it and I don't know how. HELP! Edie

You need to contact Admin.

Edie 12-27-2009 05:19 AM

I don't know how to get it to change in "My Profile" and I can't even find Admin anymore.

I hate that when I can't find what I am looking for - it is happening more and more every day. Good thing I can see my sewing machine or sure as shootin', I'd lose that too. Edie

You have to go thru ape man (admin)

marsye 12-27-2009 05:41 AM

I don't think you can change it yourself, you may have to ask admin to do it.

So how do I get to admin?

I feel so darn dumb today - Fried brains!~ Edie

Send him a PM and ask him if he could change your username. :)

Click on Private Messages at the top of your screen. Then click on "compose new message" Type Admin in the little box where it says 'compose new message to' and then click "Proceed" Then type your message and click "Submit/Send" :)

Well Edie...if you do this don't change your avatar or we won't know who you are!!! :D:D:D

Admin 12-27-2009 07:48 AM

It looks like "Edie" is already taken.

I wrote all this down and will save it. Thank you so much, Shadow Dancer. Really appreciate it. Thank you. Edie

I am not changing the avatar and from the looks of it, there is another Edie in the works and so I will be just be happy with erhausfrau!

Thanks though. Edie

Personally, I like ERhausfrau. It's memorable and a makes me smile when I say it! Are you an RN in the ER?

Edie 12-27-2009 09:25 AM

That's cute, but I am ER (or er) who is OTD (older than dirt)!!!!!

Edie

Edie 12-27-2009 09:26 AM

Besides that, the name Edie has already been taken as a user name - so I will just keep ERhausfrau as my user name and Edie as my friendly name. Edie

What does your name really mean? Just curious :?:

No, I didn't post it. ER is Edie Ruedy and hausfrau is German for housewife. I am half Swedish and half German, but some of the German words describe me better. ERflicka - just doesn't go with me. I am no more a Flicka than the man in the moon! Flicka is girl in Swedish. Hausfrau is a woman who does absolutely everything from making a good dinner (at least tries to) to tightening a bolt on a chair! It even sounds strong. I love both languages, but German just fits me better. I take after my father (Swedish) who was ever so kind and good, but I take after my mother (German) who put her foot down when she had to and is a strong woman. So putting the two of them together has worked out perfectly for me. And for my husband - he is German (father) and Norwegian (mother), so he has the same traits as I and it has worked tremendously for the last 49-1/2 years. Hopefully in June of 2010 we will travel to the Little Brown Church in the Vale (the song) in Nashua, Iowa and renew our vows for another 50 years!

I love to know the meaning of other user names also.

Have a nice day! We are heading out this afternoon to have my husband's head checked!!!!! He had a basal cell carcinoma on his forehead and had it removed (second time) and then put that one to rest! I am at the age now where I get something done and out of the way and I can forget about it. And his doctor's appts are something I just want to forget about!

Edie
