I've often wondered if you could put a purchased inner sole in something like this to make them more cushy. I have the most fussy feet, can't do the barefoot thing. Just an idea.

I think you easily could with this pattern.

I'm going to try covering some Dr. Scholl's insoles with fabric to make the sole part since I can't wear the thin sole stuff either--might even try a double layer of the Dr. Scholl's and see what happens.

Those are wonderful. I have a friend who can't wear "regular" slippers - I could hopefully customize these to her feet. Thanks for the pictures and the links.
