What childhood memories do you have?

I remember my cousin and I sitting by a big tree in our front yard playing with our dolls. My mom has a picture of us. I sure miss my cousin, Marla as she was killed in bad car wreck in 1972 and her mom died also. Her dad was in a nursing home for 20 years and then he died.

I was 15 years old when she died.

When I was small we lived in Dallas, and I remember in the summer when it would rain, our Mom would let us go play outside in our bathing suits. In the winter we would build a fort out of Christmas trees. Fun times.

When my brother and I were young we had a ton of matchbox cars..and my father would buy a dump truck load of sand every spring for us. We spent the summer building a town for our cars. Those were the most wonderful times of my young life. David and I lost many years between us due to my father's nastiness..we have found each other again and sharing old memories.

My memories were of Christmas since my dad went all out! The outside of our house was completely covered in lights! He had a speaker on top of our house and played Christmas music for the whole (little) town.
He also had a projector and showed movies outdoors for all the neighborhood families. Everyone just brought their chairs and popcorn!

my memories are of my Daddy,, he was a Navy Officer, (in the K-9 DIV.) But he always ha da way to make me laugh,,and tell me no matter how bad it gets,, you an always move forward. And we would race and the house chasing each other over french fries,,and black olives!!! He would wait until I am concentrating in something,,then give me a wet willie ( lick ur finger and stick it into someone ear) He was hard worker,, and work harder at being a Daddy and my best friend,, I am for sure a Daddys Girl,,, Everytime I hear Daddys Hands,, I bawl,, he was all that and above,,,

I have lots and lots of good childhood memories. I remember being about 6 years old and we were visiting family in TN. It was the middle of winter. My Dad & I decided to go to a Christmas play at the church where his family has attended since my Dad was a little boy. Picture the Christmas card with the little white church set in the country. After the play we were to go across the mountain to my other grandparent's home. My Mom & brother were there. When we came outside there was about 6" to 8" inches of the most beautiful snow that you've ever seen. The type of snow that coats & clings to everything. My Dad scooped me up and carried me to the car. I thought he was the strongest & most wonderful man in the world at that time. The ride across the mountain was pretty scary! My Dad is 81 now and he is a wonderful Dad.

My dad is 99 1/2..

Wow! I had a great aunt that died a few months ago that made it to 103. Is your Dad in good health?

I was a child of the 50s. My 2 fondest memoriesL:

1)Riding my new Schwinn bike (3-speed - WOW!) down to the little store (called The Little Market) to get a popsickle.......banana flavored, of course!

2) Going fishing with my family and friends. On a lake with no running water or bathrooms. Waking up to Bob, the friend, frying bacon and pancakes over an open fire! YUUUUM! The BEST bacon and pancakes ever made!
