Month ago I started a group called "Knox Frocks" a group sewing in our church hall . Started because I asked for pillowcases, trims & fabric but so much was donated.
Don't want to send group pic on web but wanted to share so am showing some dresses/shorts hanging in front of hall to show what we made with donations personally being delivered to Ghana and Shri Lanka. Finished # is 89 dresses amd 37 pr shorts in 5 Wed's. Women don't want to stop since we have so much fun and still have bit of supplies so we are going to sew one day a month but next will be for babies @ pregnacy center which we usually support. shorts on left /dresses hung up |

Ladies and one man (my hubby) are not all skilled at sewing so I chose pattern from littledressesforafrica.org
that Nancy Zeiman showed. I said we should do something for boys so I made a size 4 and 8 similar to a pj pattern with drawstring. For dresses -cut off pillowcase seamed edge, cut out armholes, decorate with whatever trim/lace , put pocket from scraps, make casing at top to put drawstring thru for long ties at the shoulders. Tack all drawstrings at center back so won't come out. Go wild with creativity. Wouldn't get as many t-shirts in our area but sure had variety of sizes in pillowcases. Some flannel pillowcases will be made into pj bottoms. Even got 6 fleece cases which are to be used to make baby bunting bags--remember those? |

I mentioned that I made a pattern similar to children's pj's.
I have made patterns thru my sewing yrs but I wanted to make these with no side seams just 2 pieces of fabric. They are sewn with serger from center front then up the center back. Sew the pant legs as one seam and do a casing at waist for a tie. You can buy patterns this style.
