Chocolate Cake

1 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys,

Over here in the UK, once a year we have what is termed the "worlds largest coffee morning" in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Care. This is an organisation which provides help and support to people who have cancer and their families. Both my mother and brother who both died very young (Mum 49, Brother 43) were cared for by Macmillan Nurses and I will forever be grateful to them all .... So today I made many Cakes and Cupcakes and took them to my monthly quilting group... Made all the gals give a donation for cake (easy money LOL LOL LOL)... Here is a picture of the chocolate cake.

So, if you have any spare pennies today, remember Macmillan Cancer Care!!!!!!

Hugs

Caroline

Oh! Just beautiful. That is a good deed you are doing and you should thank yourself and all those who made donations for a good cause.

Now, I can see the wonderful pattern on the cake transfered onto material in several colorways. WOW!

First you should ask for a donation just to take a peek at the beautiful cake, and then another higher donation for a slice. Sure wish I could be at the morning coffee with you to enjoy some of that cake. May in Jersey

I know the taste of the cake was wonderful, but the icing deserved a blue ribbon! I could see roses everywhere. What a gift you have for decorating.

Tink's Mom 09-29-2012 07:17 AM

Yummy! I would love a slice of that....just think it might be the worst for wear by the time I got it...drooling here....

You are very gifted and by sharing that gift you are helping others. Thank you. And thanks for sharing that photo --sure is so beautiful!

That cake is too pretty to cut! And here's a laugh for you - it immediately reminded me of the hats women wore when I was too young to wear hats, except once a year at Easter. I guess I'm talking about the 1950's. In fact I think my mother had one that was all swirly like your cake (the cake is better!). My husband is a several times cancer survivor (unrelated cancers) and I always like to hear about different ways people support those with the disease and their families.

mrs. fitz 09-29-2012 12:10 PM

P.S. is the cake chocolate inside too?

CarolinePaj 09-29-2012 02:53 PM

Yep...... Chocolate, chocolate and chocolate....... LOL LOL LOL

matraina 09-29-2012 03:27 PM

You mean there's cake under those beautiful flowers? WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

katesnanna 09-29-2012 08:29 PM

Beautiful Cake and Chocolate just happens to be my favorite. Here in Australia we have the World's Biggest Morning Tea. I'm happy to say most quilt guilds, groups and LQS (as well as lots of other people) take part. Here in Brisbane they close off one of the main bridges across the river and set up tables & chairs. Hope you collected of money.

The cake is gorgeous, I don't suppose you have a driving urge to share the recipe. I can't imagine doing frosting that looks that great but I'd be happy with a cake that tastes half as terrific as yours looks.

JoanneS 09-30-2012 08:46 AM

Good for you. That's a beautiful cake. I'd certainly make a big donation to have a slice of that cake.

luce321 09-30-2012 09:44 AM

It is beautifully decorated and looks very tasty.

mumzer 09-30-2012 09:49 AM
