Lynnie, here are 3 ideas that may work for you. Take pieces of packing foam and cut into assorted sizes and shapes. Wrap with small pieces of fabric, or wrapping paper and decorate with ribbons and bows. I still have some from years ago that my kids made with me and seeing the every year is fun. Buy bags of craft balls and use torn strips (about 1/2" works best) of asstd. fabric. Use hot glue or elmer's to secure the strips as you wrap the balls. When covered use twine, lace, rick rack, ribbon, etc. to decorate and make a hanger. They are simple to make and so fun to add embellishments to gear to someones decorating tastes. The last suggestion is to take between 15 and 20 pieces or lace, rick rack, ribbon, narrow cut pieces of fabric, etc. all cut to about 11". Lay a piece of cord about half way down and fold the stack of items in half over cord. Tie another piece of cord down from the fold about 1/2" to 3/4". What you are making are tassels. Sew or glue buttons onto the bottom of the ribbons. Didn't mean to make this so long and hope you understand the directions. Brenda

Hi Lynnie.

Look up on the Magic Google Machine "The Log Cabin Santa Tutorial" 1 log cabin block makes two santas they are such fun to make I made them last year, this year I made 20 folded star ornaments and 8 candle mats. I've made Santa faces from a pattern from some 15 years ago. I also make little trees by putting a little stuffing in 3 different size squares and then folding to make a triangle. You "layer" 3 triangles and it looks like a tree. Sorry, don't see an option to attach pic.

Carol, i sent you a PM
institches, my friend Dotty posted them, i think, under the Christmas ornament swap.
beautiful out of the yo yo tree. I may do that and decorate it with leftovers.
I can't even imagine how pretty the snowflakes and icicles would look. I love icicles.
I did do them a few yrs back and hung a piece of ribbon and pearls and covered it at the top with a bow or flower. that might be an option for next year. i need to find clear icicles now.
thank you all for your time to explain or show me how to do the ornaments. I still can't find my stockings or tree skirt,so I'm working on stocking now. tree skirt will be over the summer.
thank you all.

Here is a cute vintage ornament you could make. Mine is about 4 " long by 4" at the bottom. You could make it smaller. It is all yo yos.

Oh that is gorgeous.

I almost made one of the last folded ornaments going around in a circle, but didn't have enough time. I have made the other folded ones and they turn out so nice.
