Years ago during morning announcements, a card was read from a lady that received a plant when she had been sick. The person reading the card said "Mrs. **** thanks the congregation for the pot plant she received. After evening services, it was corrected to read "Mrs. *** thanks the congregation for the "potted" plant she received. That got a lot of laughs.

At another congregation we attended, an elder saying the dismissal prayer wanted to say "Let's bow our head in prayer", but it came out "Let's bow our hair". My husband and looked at each other and started laughing so hard, we had to leave.

I've been a church secretary for over 23 years. I keep my special services on computer and re-use them every year with minor changes. For a few years, we sang "Let heav'n and nature sin" until I remembered to change it in the file. My daughter and I would sit in church on Christmas Eve and laugh. I'm sure God has a sense of humor - He made us, didn't He?! :-)
