My mom agreed to let me help her clean her house. It's not dirty enough to get her on Hoarders, but it definitely needs a lot of work! She runs an internet business out of the house which provides a lot of stuff, then when my dad, sister, and I each moved out, we left tons of our stuff there. So we have about 15 years of everyone's unwanted stuff there. And she's finally decided that enough's enough and we're going to spend the summer cleaning

Today, being my spring break (yay teaching high school! ), we started on the laundry room. When I was in college, a microburst ripped off part of the roof in my room and it flooded. I had to move my stuff out into the laundry room so we could fix the room. After, I was going through all my old stuff and getting rid of a lot of it. Well, my sister liked the idea of having stuff out of her room and piled her stuff on top of my stuff, so I couldn't get to it. Then the stuff was kind of forgotten and more stuff piled on top. So that's what we tackled today!

We got rid of most of the stuff in there. My sister's stuff is still there waiting for her to get back from Prague and sort through it (with a Thanksgiving Break deadline). We filled an entire trash bin (the ones that are about 4 ft high and this big *holds out arms* around) with trash, and 3 huge trash bags plus misc smaller bags and boxes with give away. I'm really proud of her for being able to let go of so much stuff that she was hanging onto for so long (which begs the question, why so long?) There's still more to go through, but OMG, so much better.

And pictures!

And it was really disrespective to her for us to just leave everything in there for so long. I'm glad to help her take back her house! Oh, the weirdest find - a shirt that said "Durex - Bringing People Together". I'm not sure whose that was, and probably don't want to know

We were shocked! We hadn't seen the floor in so many years... we just assumed there wasn't one

Well bless your heart. A real win-win situation: I'll bet your Mom is happy and you must feel good for doing such a great job. :) :)

You made a big difference. It would drive me crazy before the clean up.
