Anyone have a good method? Have tried everything from Easy Off to that Magic Bullet advertised on tv. Alas, I do not have a dishwasher but I have Mom's old pyrex!
|
take hot water dissolve powdered dish detergent let it soak overnight. or gel detergent at least tablepoon.
|
Put it in the hot sun, then wash as usual (Magic Erasers help) For some reason when you have burned on food such as popcorn, setting it outside works. At least here in S. CA it does
|
Yep, dishwasher detergent overnight, and then I would use soft scrub- the kind with a little bit of grit, not the clear kind. My Pyrex is 50 years old and looks like new. Once you get it clean, it's not hard to keep it clean.

I will try it! I knew I'd get help here!

I learned this here and it worked beautifully on mine. I got a huge ziploc kind of bag and poured a little ammonia (about half a cup). Put the dish in and close the bag for one or two days. The next day pour the ammonia out and rinse the dish. The fumes of the ammonia clean the dish.

Coat dish with a layer of Dawn dishing liquid, let set over night. Dawn usually will disolve grease. The blue one does better/
The older pyrex dishes seem to made out of better stuff than the newer ones. |
I use Dip-It. Works on anything! Even removes the coffee grim buildup in coffee pots and to go cups! All you do is add it with boiling water, let it sit until cool then wipe it down, amazing!
