is there anything that can be used over and washed maybe than store bought filters? I am tired of constantly spending money on filters

My coffee machine has a reusable filter that you can purchase and use less coffee. |
Years ago I had a reuseable coffee filter. Actually it was a wedding gift. It was metal, very nice, you washed it out.

Yes, you can get filter baskets that fit inside the filter holder, they are made of a fine mesh material.

we just bought a new coffee maker and my DH will use the paper filters rather than the basket. :?: Anyway I have it in thebottom of my pie safe. lol..

Yes ,i have the metal one too but find the grounds stick and we have our own septic and no garbage disposal so I don't like to rinse all the grounds down my sink --so-- went back to disposable filters :(

I just use filters too...so much easier than washing the other one out.

this is what I was going to recommend. I do this for reenacting - basically make an unbleached muslin bag with a drawstring top. :) PS - I did run across a coffee filter that you can knit. BUT it uses really tiny thread (and the pattern is from the 1870s...) |
