Colorado flooding

I know there's a quilt store in downtown Lyons that's probably underwater. I am not sure if any of the Loveland stores are underwater. Some of the pictures of the flooding are just amazing.

So sad that so many people will be heartbroken by the flood damage. It's had for me to imagine, being that we are in near-drought conditions here in NE Wisconsin.

We actually were/are in drought conditions, not having enough rain/snow to fill our reservoirs. Just went through a week or so of blazing high 90's and then this. Funny thing (well maybe not so funny) got a reverse 911 call at 1am to let me know there was no evacuation.....I'm thinking, you had to wake me up to tell me all was well and I could sleep?

Just watched the devastation on the evening news. I hope no QB members are effected!

Living where I do, it is hard to imagine floods. I feel so sad for the poor people suffering so much! We were so excited last night to get 1 3/4 inch of rain. First in a loooong time! We are in the country on high, flat ground, where our big threats are drought, fire and blizzards. Oh, forgot.....tornadoes.

Colorado weather can swing from one extreme to another in just a few short days. It's not all that unusual for the monsoonal flow to cause a flood down a canyon but I don't think it's ever happened down that many canyons at once and all of it is flowing into the same river so they're getting a lot of flooding downstream too.

And then Aurora got drowned again today and it's supposed to rain quite a bit up and down the front range again tomorrow. The very last they need.

I've been in so many of those places and down so many of those highways. The damage is just astonishing. Water really has a tremendous amount of power and should always be respected.
