I left work a couple of hours early. I posted some pictures in the GCC, but will put a few here, too. It's supposed to snow all night and part of tomorrow. I may not be going in to work.

Another view of the farm

Tosha is a good-sized dog so this gives you a good idea on how deep it is...and it's supposed to snow all night.

Oh, that is so beautiful! And it's only October. Are you in the mountains, or is it just because of the high altitude in general?

Tink's Mom 10-28-2009 03:22 PM

Wow! On Tink it would be over her head. Guess fall is over.

Ducky 10-28-2009 03:29 PM

We are not in the mountains. I work at the base of the foothills and live 8 miles east of there. I guess parts of the mountains have gotten over 30 inches so far. Very good for the ski resorts!

Joan 10-28-2009 03:29 PM

Your dog is beautiful, Ducky. My daughter flew into Denver this morning and said it really looked like winter. They were supposed to get two feet there.........

(makes me appreciate California although I have to admit the snow is lovely!)

Jim's Gem 10-28-2009 03:41 PM

BRRRRRRRRRrrrrr, having just arrived from Maui about 30 hours ago, that looks way to darn cold!!!!!
I lived in Northglenn for 30 months a few (21) years ago. I sometimes miss the winter, not really. I miss the mountains!!!

I have three girls that look quite similar to your pup! Only 1 is black and the other two are almost white.

I'm surprised your daughter could land. I guess flights have been canceled at DIA. How long will she be here?

Janstar 10-28-2009 04:28 PM

That looks so cold! I know it's beautiful too but I don't look foreward to it!

Yes, apparently there was no problem landing. Her flight landed at 1:30 p.m. She lives there and was visiting us here in California for the weekend. She said it was HOT here....lol

amma 10-28-2009 06:30 PM

What a beautiful winter wonderland!!! Soooo pretty to look at :D :D :D

MollieSue 10-28-2009 06:31 PM

Wow! I didn't realize you've gotten so much!! It was on our news earlier, but I didn't catch the inches!!

amandasgramma 10-28-2009 06:31 PM

BEAUTIFUL! Do you feel like you live in a Christmas Card?????

littlehud 10-28-2009 07:21 PM

I love snow too bad we do not get much here in the south. Maybe one or two snows a year and they are all gone by the next day.

Like your pup my 4 dogs (a Chihuahua, Irish Setter, and 2 Poms) love the snow and can not get enough of it!!

Billy

reneebobby 10-29-2009 03:33 AM

Keep it I don't want it except at Christmas but they sure are pretty.

hnyb 10-29-2009 07:50 AM

Good Day to you. Thank you for sharing your Colorado winter pics. I lived there for many yrs and I miss it.

bstanbro 10-29-2009 08:47 AM

I live at one of the higher elevations in Portland. Our winter is defintely on the way and my home will probably look like this sooner or later. Hard to know how to feel about it sometimes. It is so beautiful, but if you need to go somewhere, what a bummer to have to drive in it.

Ducky 10-29-2009 10:38 AM

Billy, the picture of your red setter made me laugh. Great shots of all three of them!

Loretta, here in Lakewood I measured 15 inches using my trusty yardstick. I work in Golden, which is at the base of the foothills, and someone said they got 18 inches. In Conifer, which is by Evergreen in the mountains, they came in at over 30 inches.

I just came in from shoveling. Oh, my poor, poor body.

k3n 10-30-2009 09:26 AM

Snow is beautiful if you can look at it through a window from a cosy room, but NOT if you have to travel in the stuff or shovel it!

Tosha looks like she's having fun - does she catch snowballs? Dougal does and looks surprised every time that they break up! :D Stupid dog!

barnbum 10-30-2009 06:11 PM

Oh gosh--I really don't want it to come this way...I'd like Fall to relax and settle in for the long haul--as in make a new record for longest season. I really don't feel like digging paths for the you-know-whos in the barn. :?

gaigai 10-30-2009 08:20 PM

Aw Ducky, I'll come shovel your walk for you! I LOVE the snow!!! Thanks for sharing the pix. Guinness says hi to Tosha. I'll bet they're about the same size. That's why my friend calls her Labzilla. Billy, your dogs are too funny!

wvdek 10-31-2009 02:51 PM

Thanks Ducky for sharing the pics.
Guess if we still lived there, we would have had the 15" since we lived right at the footlhills, too.
I miss those snows. Was so much fun and such hard work. Don't think with my back, I could shovel anymore. Love our sit-down mower w/ blade on front. Of course we have 20 acres here and a looooong driveway.
Do you mind if I e-mail the pics to my son as he is currently in IL. and wants to see them.
Thanks.

Mousie 10-31-2009 05:02 PM

Well, duck-duck, guess even a duck has to wear snow shoes in that!
It does look like a Christmas card. Thanks for sharing :D
Want me to reciprocate with some beach sand? aww, well, it would just be white too!

I wouldn't mind at all. IL winters are much colder than CO's!!!!

Tosha is about 72 lbs. now. We got her down from 94. Come on over, Tosh would love a playmate.

Well Guinness is 94 lbs. and she is NOT fat! She has a very defined waist, and sometimes I wonder if she needs to gain just a little more. I would guess that she's about 1/4 to 1/3 less tall than Mortimer, so she really is a big dog, especially for a lab (yes, she's pedigreed) and even more so for a female!

quiltluvr 10-31-2009 06:32 PM

Snow is in my blood. It's my favorite kind of weather. I miss it so bad. Love the pics. Wish I were there!!!!!!!

sewnsewer2 10-31-2009 07:48 PM

Brrrr! That's why I live in FL.

tlrnhi 10-31-2009 10:10 PM
