All of a sudden my computer is refusing to turn itself off when I want to shut it off for the day. I go to Start, click Turn Off, again click Turn Off (as opposed to Log Off) and it just sits there and looks at me. I wind up having to manually turn it off. I don't think it's good for the computer to turn it off this abruptly as sometimes it has to do it's own thing and go through a few shutting off processes first.
Anyone ever had this problem? Is it trying to tell me this is the beginning of the end of our relationship -- is it on it's way to computer heaven? I hope not!

have you run your antivirus software, have you deleted your cookies, have you cleared your cache?

run a virus scan- defrag- do a restart- see if that fixes the problem

You may want to do ctrl alt delete and see if there are any programs that are still running before shutting down.

Mine did that for a while too... it was taking forever to close all of the applications so it could shut down.
DB saved all of my important documents/settings/etc and then reformatte? my hard drive. It made a world of difference :D:D:D
