Confused about

I was listed as a regular here for about a week. I was off due to abdominal surgery and have only now been able to get back on but lost my regular status. Has this happened to anyone else?

Qbee 09-18-2010 11:56 PM

I think it has to do with how many posts you have in like a 2 week period or something. Now that you are back on your feet and back on here, it will probably go back to "regular" soon. By the way, I hope you are feeling much better! Get well soon :D

Quote from Admin's Forum Rules Section:

User Titles

User titles associated with accounts have the following structure:

"new user" -- first two weeks after the registration.
"a regular here" -- at least 20 posts during two weeks up to date (assigned/removed automatically).
"community benefactor" -- outlined here.
"top poster" -- a user with the highest number of posts.
"moderator" -- users who help moderate the board.

P.S. I hope you are recovering quickly.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Glad you are back.

raptureready 09-19-2010 04:04 AM

Wow, didn't know you could lose your regular status. Nice to know, I'll keep the laptop handy if I'm going to be gone for awhile. LOL Just keep posting and you'll become regular again I'm sure. You could pm Patrice and see how long it will take.

Colbaltjars62 09-19-2010 07:48 AM

Welcome back!!!
You'll get it back before ya know it.

Gramof6 09-19-2010 07:55 AM

Welcome back & I hope you are recupertaing as you should. Best Wishes for a speedy recovery.

It is nice that this post came up because I did not know you could lose your "regular" status either. LOL I read everyday from here but do not always have anything to say, so I don't always post. Guess I better get with it. LOL Please do take care!

Gramof6 09-19-2010 07:56 AM

:D Well hells bells. :D Just saw that I am not a regular either now. :D Back to posting so I hope yall do not get tired of my boring posts. :D

Too bad there isn't a way of being regular through visits rather than having to always say things. I visit daily but do a lot of keeping my keyboard quiet (mouth shut). I guess that's considered not contributing but I think of it as not cluttering.

Ditter43 09-19-2010 08:21 AM

I am glad you are back and hopefully will recover quickly! :D

quiltluvr 09-19-2010 08:22 AM

I slip in and out of being a 'regular' here too. But there has to be some kind of way to monitor our comings and goings when it comes to the classified. At least it's the same rules for everyone across the board.

wolfkitty 09-19-2010 08:24 AM

What is the advantage of being 'regular'? woh, I just looked to see that I am 'regular'. I guess I am spending too much time on the computer? LOL

theoldgraymare 09-19-2010 09:55 AM

I think wolfkitty has it right. "Regular" is a way of telling us we are on the board talking more than we are quilting (notice I did not say "doing housework" -- I gave that up a long time ago!)

pookie ookie 09-19-2010 09:56 AM

It's just like when your doc says, "Are you regular?"

ptquilts 09-19-2010 10:21 AM

here is one of the few places where you get rewarded for being garrulous!

That sounds like a good idea to pm to Admin if you want to.

I don't think there's any reward to being listed as a "regular" unless of course it's your personal feeling about that being by your name. As a comment on b.zang's comment: Since's an automatically assigned and removed designation based on programming and since there are 16173 users currently listed, just think how cumbersome (an computer-intensive) it would be to keep track based on logged-in visits instead of actual posts. Whoowee!

And as long as I looked up user/post statistics (current as about 10 minutes ago): users: 16173; posts: 1434709; posts last 24 hours: 4916.

raptureready 09-19-2010 11:51 AM

I'm not sure but I think in order to sell things on here you have to be considered a Regular. However, I guess we all get a little irregular at one time or another. LOL

If you are short on time, post short welcomes and comments on pictures of quilts posted and you quickly have the needed numbers.

nonnie 09-19-2010 01:50 PM

This may be a stupid question, but do you have to be a regular on the board to buy from the classifieds? I understand about selling but did not find info about buying.

quiltnmom 09-19-2010 02:23 PM

Wow! I never knew how that got there. I had to go back and look at one of my posts. I didn't realize how much I'm on here but I've achieved "regular" status.

No questions are stupid.

I don't believe you have to be a "regular" to make a purchase.

You can't sell anything in the classifieds here if you aren't a regular. In some cases Admin or Patrice can override that rule...

Ladybugnana....my DH also had abdominal surgery this past Tuesday, so I truly have and idea of what you are going thru' I hope you heal quickly...and have plenty of strong meds!!!

Healing hugs

Patti

bjnicholson 09-19-2010 04:39 PM

Welcome back. Now you can become a regular all over again!

nursie76 09-19-2010 04:43 PM

Gosh, I don't really pay any attention to the titles under our names or the lack there of. I guess it really makes no difference unless you want to list something for sale on the classifieds.

Hope your recovery is uneventful. Glad you are back with us.

nonnie 09-19-2010 05:19 PM

Deecee, thanks so much for the reply, I have seen things that I wanted but didn't know the rules. Thanks again. Trish-nonnie

Ladybugnana 09-21-2010 01:44 PM

Thank you ladies for all the posts. I guess the only reason I wondered is because there have been times I wanted to buy off the site, but didn't think I could with out that status under my name. I am here usually once a day, maybe more. The healing is going much better this time - three incisions instead of one, and that has made it much better. They dont pull as much all the way across. And yes, pain meds are my favorite friend although I am slowing up on them fairly quickly as the pain is receeding fairly quickly. I hope you all have a great day and week! :-D

haircut2 10-06-2011 10:54 AM

I creep daily and do not post...but not a regular... guess Ill have to start posting!
