i bought a Slides2PC, 35mm slide and film scanner by ION. silly little thing but it worked. I found it online. maybe Amazon or Best Buy. about $35.00 maybe. got the slides loaded into my computer where the rest of my photos were. easy.

This one is VERY similar to mine. It takes a while, and the results are very good.

check with Walgreens. I had lots of old slides printed out so we could see what was what. Then I scanned what I wanted to keep. Not sure, but maybe they can put the slides on DVD's also, not a question I asked. My desire now is to put VHS tapes on disc. So many, and now I'd like to reduce the storage space and keep them better. I bought a converter when they first came out, but it only shows the DVD when using that converter box, I'd like more options( PC or TV maybe.) Anyone have a good suggestion on a converter?

You could have them do it at Walgreens, but it is pretty pricey when you have a bunch. My Mom bought something like the link below. We will be transferring all her slides to digital. Save any really important family photos - the walgreens (camera shop, Walmart) large machine does a finer job and you want those family photos to be as good as possible. Most of my mom's stuff is from their trips, so not a problem.

a local photography shop may offer the service..... OR, IF YOU HAVE THE TIME........ I bought a white foam board, projected the slides on it, took their pictures and burned them to dvd on my computer!!!

It is very simple to do it yourself. It is just time consuming. All you do is place the slides into a scanner that has a special slide holder and take your time to scan them. After they are in your computer you burn them onto the CD or DVD.
