Cookies!

I baked eight different kinds of cookies - 3 dozen each - worked my fingers to the bone. These were mostly going to be given to neighbors on a tray with a couple of mini loaves of quick bread. Well, I got the trays all done, wrapped in aluminum foil and was in the process of delivering - looked like a waiter in a restaurant with a huge tray in each hand. Came home and there was Miss Bess (the avatar) looking at me like she was going to barf on my living room carpet. I said "Don't even think about it." She ate most of the cookies that were in the tin (I had consolidated cookies from eight cookie tins to one. Big mistake on my part. (I mean this dog is 12 years old, I thought she couldn't open a metal cookie tin - SHE CAN!) I might have been able to save a few, but Bess is a drooler. So out they went.

On the dining room table was a lonely small tin (small cookies) and she didn't get it! AHA!!!!! MINE, ALL MINE!!!! They were my favorite - White chocolate Macadamia nut cookies. Four cookies.....mine, all mine!!!! Why did I feel so guilty when I sat and ate them in front of her without so much as a bite to share with her, which, under normal circumstances, I would have gladly. NOT THIS TIME!.

And now she is happy, content with a full tummy of cookies (her form of sugarplums I am sure), Curled up in a nice little ball (all 84 lbs of her) with her head under a pillow. Like she has a hangover or something.

Just a little Christmas Cookie story. Edie

That's like the time my cat licked the meringue off a company pie. Still had to laugh tho. They know when it is wrong and even get that look on the face. Love em.

Reminds me of when my boys were in scouts and they made fudge for me for my Christmas present. They put the package way in the back of the tree hidden among the presents. Well Christmas morning there was ripped paper all over and guess what was gone!! Pepe was in the dog house for a few days.

Hope she doesn't have a "sugar hang-over". Thanks for sharing.
