Forgot to mention: When I went in to Harbor Freight, a young guy at the register asked if he could help me. I asked him where the cotton clothesline was. He looked at me and said "What's clothesline?" (Am I THAT old?)

I bought mine at Joann's in the home dec. curtain department.

Our WalMart had rope in two departments. One in laundry the other in hardware. The hardware had a number of kinds.

I bought some in Walmart sat. and it is 100% cotton. I wish is was a little larger but think it will work

The twine will work. Just put in a heavy duty needle. The thing I like to use for these things is upholstery cording. You can get it in many different sizes, and it's cotton, won't melt. I love it for that. Instead of using skinny little rope.
