Drink 100 percent or as close as you can get cranberry juice.

Here in Australia you can get a product from the chemist call Ural, which is a sachet and makes a fizzy drink. Don't know if you have it there but it's helped me before and I haven't even had to go to the doctor. Guess it depends on how bad the infection is though

I take cranberry pills from Wal-mart. I have problems all the time in that area.

Cranberry juice, make sure it doesn't have any added sugars or high fructose corn syrup. Also lots of water. I can usually feel a UTI when in it's infant stages by either sight or smell - sorry if this is TMI - but ... if my urine is bright yellow or orange, or if it has a strong odor - I know a UTI is starting and I hit the cran juice and water pronto.

If you are already suffering any pain, or have a problem urinating (feels you have to but not much happens), then you should see a doc for meds.

I get these infections once in a while also. As much as it feels like you are giving birth to a set of broken dishes (isn't that a perfect analogy?), cranberry juice will not help you if you already have the infection. If you drink a glass every day (infection free, of course) it will stave off future infections. Just drink plenty of water and hang on! Edie

Uristat will stop the burning--available OTC at your pharmacy. Sorry. UTIs are miserable.
