My wife and I love the old black enameled Singer machines. My personal favorite is the 221 FW my mom and dad got me when I moved away to start my young life. We have information about a 1930-35 era Singer in the wood dome case, with reportedly all accessories and manuals, etc. Asking $100 and seller says still sews. Thoughts please?

Go for it.

Absolutely GO FOR IT!!

If it works, I would go for it. But then again I am a weak woman. This is why I have 10 vintage sewing machines. :-)

without seeing a picture its hard to say. My older machine with the domed wood cover I found in an antique store with accessories-beautiful decals and uses the tunnel bobbin (I call it torpedo bobbin) has one very tiny piece missing on the front I picked up for 35.00 they were asking 50.00. It is a beautiful show piece in my sewing area. I decided just to let it be as a beautiful piece to look at. I'm a Featherweight person and use mine a lot.
If you like it and you feel its good - then treat yourself! Don't wait too long you might be sorry. Ask for a lower price and see if they are workable. |
I would get it in a heart beat.

Sounds like a good deal. Will they let you sew on it before you buy it? let us know. . .
|
I would do it!

I paid $35 for my 128 in a bentwood case, but it's worth it to you then go for it.
