I'm looking for an adult-sized pattern for the pink shirt that the little girl is wearing in the bottom of this photo.

I think this is a pattern envelope from the 1970s.

I've searched, but I don't know exactly what this top is called, and it's not working for me!

=)

Looks pretty close to me. I have no idea, though, if it's still a valid pattern number. You'll have to check that out.

Here's the pattern on sale:

Looks like it's called a Jiffy dress in the toddler size but the adult Simplicity "Jiffy" dress is a totally different pattern.

It doesn't look too complicated (only 2 pieces). If you're feeling a bit adventurous, maybe you can buy the child's pattern just to get an idea of how it's put together, and then draft your own pattern for a larger size.

I will surf and see if I can find anything and also hope others can help me out on this search for you

no, Jiffy dress patterns came in alot of different styles...the Jiffy part merely meant 'easy to make'

Check McCalls 6303 for a pattern.

I believe I bought it last year. I think you can still purchase it.

Do you think I could shorten the apron to make it a shirt?

I'm TERRIBLE at sewing clothes...

The apron pattern could be adjusted to look like the one you have for a toddler. It looks very doable :)

Me too. I had this pattern a couple of years thinking I would do it. Finally gave it away, so I can't answer your question.

Willa 06-21-2011 10:43 PM

Oh my, I think my mom had that pattern.

Good golly....did you see the price of what they wanted for that vintage pattern??? I better go through my boxes of old patterns and try to sell them, huh??? Most of them never used. LOL

This one that DebraK posted has the short top in it. There are 2 different styles. A is the short one and B is the long apron. good luck. crafty_linda_b

I think it would be to lowcut under the arms to work as a top.
Look at the pattern and you see that the sides are cut almost to the waist.

jetnica 06-22-2011 05:00 AM

Hmmmm

Maybe I will make one apron, and then start playing with the pattern to adjust it.

=)

Have you noticed the prices of NEW patterns?

bearisgray 06-22-2011 05:04 AM

That apron pattern was what I was going to suggest, too.

Carol's Quilts 06-22-2011 02:38 PM

May I ask why you must have that particular style?

Perhaps something else would work as well?
