A quilt for a one year old? Heck that's pretty easy. Since she doesn't quilt, it's not likely that she would know good quality from fair quality (not that your work is only fair!). A slightly larger than crib size quilt won't take much fabric either, get it at Walmart or use scraps. Make it simple, just using strips something. I like the idea of bartering, too much in this world depends on the all mighty dollar and few of us have many of those anymore. Seems like a good idea to me.
