A friend of mine is going to buy a new machine. Can anyone give me some input on the Creative Vision by Pfaff or a Janome machine. Thanks.

I love my Pfaff, but I also like the looks of the Janome, so I am no help.

Have never used Pfaff, but love my Janome.

go to sewingpatternreview.com and they have tons of reviews on both machines. If I remember correctly, there were some problems with the Creative Vision but they may have been resolved.

Also check out Yahoo groups.

For myself, I would go with Janome over any other brand just for reliability, service and support.

Looks like Janome is in the majority.

I have had my Janome 6260 for several years. Have never had a problem with it. I even knocked it off the table once. It sprung the carrying handle but it kept on working fine. It didn't hurt it. In my opinion I have two of the best machines on the market with a Bernina 930 and my Janome, but that is just my opinion. I know a lot of the girls here have Pfaff. I can't tell you about them. I'm sure there are more good machines out there. It's just whatever you want. Good luck.

For the amount of money your friend is going to spend, my choice would be to "shop the dealer". I'm sure the machines are both good, but which dealer is going to give the support and lessons and the best experience overall.

The bottom line is that you have to have a person (dealer) you can rely on so you can get the most from your machine.

Just my humble opinion and who has a WONDERFUL Pfaff dealer. (But I don't have the Vision)

Nancy

I have a Pfaff AND a wonderful dealer. You need a good dealer to help you really learn how to use your machine. My dealer is wonderful!!

Nancy, that is what I told my cousin-get a dealer you like. That is so important. Test run the machines and take the free classes.

Thanks all for the great responses!
