I love cucumbers in my sandwiches. Gives that extra "crunch" and compliments the rest of the ingredients.

Try the seedless ones, regular ones also repeat on me. The English ones are OK for me.

Isn't there others out there that feel the same way about cucumbers??

Raises hand! The smell is livable, but I cannot eat them or watermelon!

Thanks for the info! I had to giggle at #11 though. If I don't have any gum to freshen my breath after a business lunch, I'm not sure I'm going to find a cucumber in my purse!!!

OH MY Goodness....we must be twins!!!! I can't eat watermelon either, can't stand the smell of watermelon. Even the watermelon flavored gum is a NO.

My husband, grown kids & grands love cucumbers & watermelon and I will buy them for them but someone has to cut them, and I usually leave the room when they eat them.

Funny thing is I like most pickles.

Cucumbers and watermelons get all my votes. Love both of them and never get enough of either one. I do like salt on my melon, any melon, but since I have to restrict my salt intake in the summer, no salt on that melon.

Other trace vitamins in cucumbers are niacin and folate (both from the B vitamin family), B6, vitamin E and vitamin K.

"Trace" means there is not very much of them, so that kind of disproves the "good source of B vitamins" thing.

They are low in calories and high in fiber. However to quote Fred Sanford, cucumbers "make me burp."

I love cucumbers and will eat them in most any way but would not trust them to provide my vitamins. I have my doctor check my blood for vitamin levels and then take what I need; not a multivitamin, not enough of what I need in them either. Right now I take zinc, magnezium citrate (important that's its citrate) calcium, tons of vit D and I tan just to keep it at a acceptable level, vit B12 shots monthly. The specialist told me that one sure way to tell when someone doesn't have enough vitamins in their system is he checks the feet because if you have low chemical levels it will effect your circulation levels. I feel that the most when I don't take the mag for a while. I'll keep eating cukes but I'll stick to the real vitamins to make sure I get enough and not just traces of.

Count me in with the "hates watermelon AND cucumbers" group! I can't stand to eat either one. Although strangely enough, I do like the Bath & Body Works and/or Avon cucumber-scented products and use them often. Weird, huh?!

Love cucumbers!!! Thanks for all the great tips!!

Me too, I simply do not digest them and I am not very fond of the smell either, but I won't be adverse to use them for cleaning, anything that saves time and effort!
