I think most women struggle with finding a comfortable, good fitting bra. Our younger daughter is tiny, an XS or "0" clothing, and she has problems just as I do at the other end of the scale.

No how, no way am I wearing underwires. When I find something that sort of works, if it has underwires, I make a snip in the casing and rip it out.

As I've aged, my skin has become very sensitive to anything that is not cotton or linen. I can't go without a bra as the skin under my breast chafes. The struggle is real

I've been eyeing Miss Mary of Sweden bras online. Not available anywhere locally. They are quite pricey, but if they are comfortable, it would be worth it.

I am not associated with this company in any way. I have worn bras from "Essential Bodywear" for a long time. They do private fittings and that made a difference for me. They are shockingly expensive but they last for years and years. My first two bras lasted beyond eight years. That brings the price down to about $7.50 per year. I just ordered replacements about 18 months ago and got them quickly and they were exactly like the originals. Loved that. I learned long ago that when you pay for quality, the item lasts longer.

I see the FB bras but as a matter of practice I don't believe Facebook adds

For everyday around the house I wear a tee shirt bra. I'm not busty so it works and keeps my better bras newer.

I am in the "hate underwires" camp. I remember one time I was doing laundry at my mother-in-law's house, and I was pulling my bras out of the washer and hanging them to dry. She asked me why, she said she just tosses hers in the dryer. I said air-drying them helps them last longer, because the heat from the dryer degrades the elastic. She had no idea.
I also replace all my bras about once a year, because the elastic and stretchy fabrics do degrade and that's when the girls start sagging. I like the basic cotton Cacique bras from Lane Bryant, they haven't changed the fit, style, quality, materials, etc over the last 20 years. I don't even need to try them on anymore, I just buy and go.

One time I had a stylist dress me for really grand work occasion. The shapewear undergarments made me look great the best I ever looked in clothes but felt miserable. I couldn't enjoy the occasion because of how awful the underwear was. I felt stuffed in a tight tube. And I was thin to begin with. There is no way I could wear the shapewear most fashion women wear every public outing. Any mention of shapewear and I will run.

I have such a dilemma with bras. When I get the band size right the cups are way too big. What I've been doing is cutting the back and inserting fabric. Ugly for sure but it's the only way I can get a bra to fit. I never used to have a problem but I've gained weight and need to get it off!

I don't understand. Why don't you buy a bra with smaller cups? If a 36D is too big, then buy a 36C or B?
